My longtime buddy since we went to Unihi. Jonesey was an 18 year old senior and I was a lowly freshman. He has left the earth and I’m so sad. His beautiful voice will linger and linger as long as people need to listen to good music. Happy trails and following seas, dear treasured friend. Jack Jones.

The transition of Jack Jones to the angelic realms is poignant for so many, especially me. He had the kind of God given voice that mere mortals only could dream of. He will always be an inspiration for anyone who followed in his footsteps. His fans included Sinatra and Tony Bennett and he was a kind and humble man. A faithful friend. My sympathies to his beautiful family and friends. You will be deeply missed Jack.

iPhone delivering a sweet memory. Taken after a great set at the Catalina …. Jack Jones in great voice, quick wit and that easy does it presence that always made it look easy. Connie Stevens in the audience made it even more special! God speed Jack! You were so generous, including so many songs on your albums when I was hardly the rage!! A great friend, you always kept the Love Boat theme in the mix … Charlie Fox and I will always be grateful! 🎶🌈🙏🏻
…What are really wonderful man. So generous to me recording several of my songs before anybody really knew who I was. And of course he sang love boat them every Saturday night for 11 years and there after every time he walked on stage. Charlie Fox and I asking him to sing it the day we wrote it as I recall … you will be missed Jack…

Farewell to the legendary Jack Jones, who has risen to the ever-growing jam session in the sky. I got to know his wife Eleanor and him visiting with them after some of my shows and his, and we always had a lovely rapport. I admired how Jack’s voice retained its beauty into his eighties and his ballads deepened with life experience through the years. Thanks for the music, Jack, and RIP.

Very saddened to hear about the passing of Jack Jones. Not only was he Sammy’s friend, he’s one of the last of the great American crooners of yesterday. Here’s a bit of him singing on Sammy & Company in 1976. We won’t forget him.

When I was in my 20’s I dated Jack Jones. He was one of the greatest singers of all time. Sinatra loved his talent and spoke of him often. More enormous than his talent was his genuine affection for others. A true gentleman with a kind and loving heart. #jackjones #beyondtalent #thetruepicture @jackjonessing #restwell #untilwemeetagain #crooner #hesings
Christian Jacob – Pianist/Musical director for Jack Jones
I am so sad today as I hear about the passing of the great Jack Jones. I was lucky to be his music director since 2016; I did some very exciting tours with him. He was so talented and his long career was so impressively filled from films, television, theater and concerts; Grammy wins and unforgettable popular hits like singing the opening theme song for the television series “The Love Boat”. Here is a clip from my show The Christian Jacob ‘not quite’ a show, it captures a moment from one of our UK tours. What a great sense of humor!
Rest in Peace Jack, I’ll miss you…

I can’t believe I am actually posting this. We are all crushed and heartbroken. We lost an icon, an incredible interpreter of song, but most of all a dear sweet friend, Jack Jones. My heart goes out to his lovely wife, Eleonora and his entire family. I will always remember our wonderful times together, whether recording and performing, or just when my phone would ring. Without even saying hello first, he would simply begin a joke. I will always cherish recording this duet of “I’ve Got A Crush On You” in 2016 and the fun we had doing it. Thanks for everything, we will miss you JJ!

Oh my goodness I hadn’t heard that singer Jack Jones had passed. I remember when I first saw and heard him sing. It was at a nightclub here in Los Angeles back in the mid 60s. It was called Slate Brothers located on La Cienega Blvd. right off of Santa Monica. He was a very handsome man with medium brown hair and a voice of silk may he rest in peace.

Jack was one cool cat. I grew up with a mom who adored him, and then I got to work with him at the @hollywoodbowl. He was brilliant, beautiful, and funny. He lived up to everything it takes to be a star. I will never forget him. 🌟🌹❤️

Good night Jack Jones 💫
One of the last of the great singers from my dad [Al Martino]’s era and one of the originals who defined a unique era with that smooth, velvety voice. May you have eternally smooth sailing. Was lucky to have known you.

Like to take a moment to acknowledge the passing of one of our musical icons, and surely the last of the classic crooners, Mr. Jack Jones. I was first introduced to Jack by the late great saxophonist, Pat Rizzo, from Sly & The Family Stone, and later Frank Sinatra. Then we would meet again through our mutual friend, the late Trini Lopez, and from there, became a friend of Jack and his beautiful wife, Eleanora. I went to their legendary Christmas in the Summer parties and had many a memorable dinner at Jack’s home. When they moved to Indian Wells, down the street from my home, I inherited four of their beautiful ceiling fans they couldn’t affixed in their new place. Still have them. Jack was a big fan of my PBS TV concert specials and at one point, we flirted with the idea of a Jack & Friends PBS special. Last I saw Jack was at a celebration of the Palm Springs Walk of Stars anniversary, just before the pandemic and Covid – which is how Trini passed. He was a funny man. And an incredible singer who always kept up with new music. His loss will be felt within the music industry, with his fans – especially in England, with his family, friends, and the desert community in the Coachella Valley. R.I.P. dear Jack. And thank you for your songs. Cheers, Chip
Billy Stritch – Composer/Arranger/Vocalist/Jazz Pianist
We’ve just lost another great one. Born into a show biz family, Jack Jones grew up hearing the great songs and very few sang them as well as he did. And as evidenced by the audience reaction in this clip he was quite a heartthrob in his day. I’m not sure Jack ever achieved the top tier success afforded Sinatra and Bennett and a few others but for my money he was every bit as good. And he could swing! If you’re not familiar with him (beyond the “Love Boat” theme) start with his 1992 release “The Gershwin Album” and go from there. Thank you Jack for all the great music.

RIP: Jack Jones, who recorded my song, “Hopeless Romantic.” Always gracious with class.

Bruce Charet – Entertainment Executive
The last great male singer of standards from the last century has died.
Jack Jones sang almost perfectly.
Intonation, rhythm, and that glorious voice…
He was the youngest of the great pre- rock singers and among the very best.
I knew him well and always found his modesty, decency, and self-effacing manner disarming.
You’d never have known he’d grown up, Hollywood royalty.
He leaves behind a formidable body of work…one that I have enjoyed all my life and shall continue to enjoy, appreciate, and respect, as long as I’m around.
RIP, Jack Jones…

We lost a legend and a friend. His wife informed me that Jack Jones died yesterday. My condolences to his wife Eleonora and the entire family. Jack was an incredible vocalist, consummate performer, and possessed a singular wit. Andrea and I were privileged to see him perform on several occasions and to spend time in his gracious company. Godspeed Jack, we will sorely miss you my friend.

RIP JACK JONES. Hugely talented swing/pop singer whose distinctive, rich baritone covered considerable range and genres. Multi-Grammy winner and our notorious *favorite* who sang the Love Boat theme. A five decade career with many chart placements of great covers. Jack could croon as well as Andy or Engelbert, yet chose to carry out his own path of unique material and artistry. A good looking, highly trained artist; a Kool Kat who sold out venues deep into his eighties. Keep love exciting and new in Heaven; jump aboard, they’re expecting you ️ . We’ll be listening.
Dave Land – Trumpeter
Just heard the very sad news of the passing of Jack Jones 🙏- aged 86 – one of the last Great American crooners!
Frank Sinatra:
‘One of our major singers of our time’
Tony Bennett:
‘One of the great interpreters of the Great American song book , he’s singing better and better…..’
I have been fortunate and privileged to have toured and recorded with Jack Jones – sitting up front on the tour bus many times talking with Jack about all his many albums – recording sessions – who was playing on the albums – what arrangers etc etc – he was like the ‘font of all knowledge’ with his facts and figures concerning his many hundreds of recordings and television/film sessions – totally amazing man – he made the hairs on the back of your head stand on end when he sang on stage – what a voice!
Rest in Peace – Jack Jones 🙏
The Ed Sullivan Show
Today, we mourn the loss of the legendary Jack Jones, whose smooth vocals and unforgettable performances lit up The Ed Sullivan Show. His music will forever inspire us. Thank you for the memories, Jack. Rest in peace. 🎶✨
Palm Springs City Government
The City of Palm Springs is saddened to learn of the passing of legendary crooner JACK JONES, who passed away today at Eisenhower Health. Jack grew up in Palm Springs and was a great friend to our city and the Coachella Valley. In fact, Jack was excited to help christen the City’s popular Buzz Trolley back in the day — and wrote the trolley a theme song, “The Buzz Bus,” based on his iconic Love Boat TV series tune which he sang to a crowd of hundreds of fans and admirers on Palm Canyon Drive. It was a one-of-a-kind night to remember that could only happen here. On behalf of our citizens, a big thank you to Jack Jones for being a part of the magic that makes Palm Springs like no place else! May he rest in peace.
