Hello my wonderful man, I was going to write and tell you about what happened before Sheffield, but I can't go through it all. I will only tell you that the week before your show, I had to organize my Father's funeral, hadto get my Mother back from Africa, where she lived and so many things. Daddy lived in Yorkshire. My Aunt came with me and I thought I had arranged every thing. Friday 13th February was the date of the funeral, well, unfortunately my Mother never got to the funeral, her flight was delayed and she missed her connection. See how things go wrong in life. I had not seen my mother in five years, she was devastated, so was I. On Saturday, I said, 'Mummy, I hope you will understand and not be upset with me, but I have to go to Sheffield tomorrow as I have to see Jack, please forgive me.' Mummy said, I understand , you go and I will see you when you gat back to Scotland. My mother knew everything as I used to write and tell her, how wonderful you are. I would never have left my mother but my love for you was and is so great. My emotions were all over the place, so many shocks, from the depths of despair and when you came in view, to this immense happiness that you create in me. Then when you walked off, the last night, I was again crashed and back in Scotland I crashed even further. I had to look after my Mother, I looked after my mother many times. Perhaps you can understand that my mind was all over the place and not taking in things. I ask your forgiveness, but I didn't know. I wasn't going to write all this, but I have. I do hope you are ok and doing well. I have lived all this time thinking the wrong thing until 3 years, come August. You'd better go now 'cause I love you much too much--a lot.vxxxxxxx

Hello My Darling, Have I told you lately that I love you. No, well I do very much. I will write to you at the w/end. I do so wish I could talk to you and hopefully one day I will. It is difficult to keep inside me all the things I want to say and for so many years. Next letter I will tell you about the week prior to my coming to Sheffield, perhaps you will understand things then. I would never ever have done that, I am not a coward, you know. I must try and sleep tonight and not go through all the beautiful times, which I have done oh, so many times over the years, I even talk to you as if you were there, how bad/sad is that. Goodnight Sweetheart and as always, KEEP SAFE AND STRONG AND HEALTHY and Always keep singing. With all the love in the World VXXXXXXXX Keep the Faithxxxxx

Hello my love, Trust all well over there with you and all your family. I just want you to know that I will really try to get over to see you this year. I have not got the means I used to have, remember I came back here from South Africa, a very devalued currency, hence my situation here, a very expensive place the UK is. Personally I think the UK should revise it's whole Monetary system and get it back to a more balanced state. I am on my high horse today. Had I had more Capital I would have come over there and stayed for a while, in the hope of seeing you and talking to you, to be near you is all I ask. I cannot help the way I feel. I am not the one who Orchestrated this in the first place when I took that LP in my hand 1970 and had that strange experience. That came from a much higher hand and so it goes on and on. Oh well my darling, one day. Take good care of yourself, stay safe and healthy and remember I didn't do that. With love hugs and xxxxxxs's V

Hello My Darling, Tomorrow, at the Midnight hour, will be the Anniversary of our first meeting, 46years have gone by from that wonderful happy time and it is still crystal clear and never fades, as are all the moments I spent with you. If only we could have sat down and chatted in Sheffield, I probably would not be writing this to you but you got cross with me. I only turned away out of shock and it was misread but it is understandable I guess. Somehow, I have to turn my life around here as I cannot take the monotony of this existence I have here anymore. I do kick myself for coming back to this Country I never liked the place really not that I am a party type (other than chatting like we used to) but I like music round me, here they like Pubs and as you know I don't drink and have never liked Pubs drinking holes. Do you know the last evening I was out in this Country, was when you were appearing in Glasgow, you must admit a great life I'm having, at least in South Africa, Roman Kate Jan Ingrid and I went out for dinner and show. Oh well, c'est la vie. I love you so much, keep strong and healthy. Lots of hugs and xxxxxx's V

Hello, Are you ok I really need to know. I think you still don't believe me. I have only told you the truth,
that is all I can tell you. I am not trying to intrude on your life, I did not come back here to do that. I respect marriage and always respected your marriages. I thought you moved on and therefore I kept my distance and eventually went back to Africa, where my brother lived. He was in Zimbabwe, Victoria Falls and I in South Africa which is a short flight away. That is what happened. All I need is to speak to you and one day I do so hope that will come about. I hope all is well with you, I do worry about you. You are always on my mind and ALWAYS have been. I wish you and all your loved ones everything beautiful. I love you and that is the way it is for me, but that's my problem. Take good care, stay safe, keep healthy, mon cher send hugs xxxxx V

I have been looking for a recording of "Love with the Proper Stranger" lately. Can't find it, and am wondering if I need to buy the DVD and have it transferred to cd so I can listen endlessly. Is there a recording? And yes I am still your biggest fan.

I have enjoyed your music since I was about 8 years old (1960) when the lady who drove me home from school each day, would listen to a radio station that played your music.
I always wanted to be that wife who was also my husband's lover too, even then. I have been married to my dear husband for nearly 45 years. Thanks for being you.

Can I please ask you to release a recording of you singing The Impossible dream? I heard you sing it live in Croydon U.K.a couple of years ago and it reduced this 60something man to tears.... easily the best, no, GREATEST rendition I've ever heard. The emotion for me was palpable and I'd love to have a copy to play when I needed to feel 'alive'.My wife introduced me to your singing 40odd years ago, bless her, and we see you when we can so hopefully it won't be long before we/I can hear your live version again
All the best and thank s for the experience.

Hello Sweetheart, I just realized that your Carmel gig is 2moro- (Break a leg) I am sure it will be a great show, as always - Lucky audience (boo hoo that's me). Thank you yet again for all your great video's, highlight of my evenings, until I click off my lap-top and come crashing down to Earth again. I wonder if I am the only one, who sits in front of my lap top and applauds you. Is this the first sign of madness !!! Shall write soon again as I am hoping you get this in time for the gig. I shall come over there one of these days be sure of that, by hook or by crook. Take care my love, stay strong and healthy. You know all I ever wanted in my life was to be happy with the person I love and I can't believe what happened. Always with you no matter what. vxxxxxxxxx

Hello I love you. Always remember that I have told you the truth and don't think I don't feel the pain of the other, as well as my own. Just know that. I hope you and all your loved ones are well and happy. I have to go now as I have 'flu and don't feel very great.
Somehow I will see you again. May everything that is good surround you and always protect you. To me you are the most wonderful human being I ever came across in my life you are perfection, that is what I observed in Drury Lane, I only saw you when I came into the room. I will relate the whole thing to you, one of these days. All I can say is thank God the THEATRE CAT followed me in, that little cat knew I was going to be embarrassed, she came to rescue me. I have always wanted to apologise to you, if I embarrassed you, but when I think about it, which I have done about all the times that time however, does make me laugh, oh goodness me. Why do I have such strange things happening to me when you are around, anyway they do happen.I'd better go now, you know the rest. Lots of hugs V xxxxxxxxx

Hello, over there. How is the World treating you? I do hope very well. I think if I write too much to you, you will be cross with me and I do not want that my daring. I had a lot to do this past week, always having to sort things out in this place never runs smoothly. I do feel happier when I put on the lap top and listen to you and thank you for the beautiful songs they mean everything to me. Of course when I switch off the lap top I get miserable, I think it is called, Walking the blues over you. Do you ever hear me calling to you, I wonder! I used to do that in South Africa I would go to by big sliding windows and open them, look out over the Indian Ocean and call you name, out loud, did you ever hear me? Oh, by the way The Love Boat series is on TV here. I clicked onto it and guess what came up you and your Father singing Xmas show and then again you were there before you disembarked with your wife, Mother and Father I was so surprised that as soon as I put it on, you appeared. You know that you are constantly in my mind. Next time I write I will tell you about Drury Lane of course it is strange, of course it is always that way when you are near and when I reveal what happened to me you would have given me the benefit of the doubt, a few years later. I shall sign off now my One and only. Stay safe, healthy and happy Forever yours vxxxx

Two concerts within a single week! Did Christmas come just a tad late? With California's wintery weather, one might easily have been duped into so believing!
The Cerritos Performing Arts Theatre is a truly wonderful venue, well supported by its patrons, who thrive on exceptional music.
On February 8th, they were not to be denied - for to a full and enthusiastic house, Jack, in top form, delivered. Presenting his, of-late, program, there were many, and I mean many, standing-ovation moments. High amongst those stand-outs was the hand-thumping, foot-stomping 'Well Alright, Okay, You Win...' which featured a brilliant and lengthy organ solo by Paul (Lowden). Folks wandering around outside the theatre could well have been forgiven for thinking: 'here comes 'nother one of dem Ca'fornia Shakers!'
For me, the highlight of that evening's program was the Michel Legrand 'What Are You Doing The Rest of Your Life'. It's Jack's favourite love ballad, and a song he regularly features. But this particular evening, the arrangement that he and Christian presented was both moving and almost eerily breathtaking....one could have heard a pin drop (later Jack joked that he indeed DID hear a pin drop!) So many of the departing patrons commented on this song....this version/arrangement really does need recording!
A truly great and memorable show..and, for the more fortunate, dessert was yet to follow.
The 2019 Newport Beach Jazz Party, February 14th through February 17th, was superbly hosted by the Lowdens, Paul, Sue, and Chris. Jack headlined the performers on Valentine's Eve. Accompanied by the splendid Newport Beach Jazz Band, with Christian conducting, Jack completely changed the mood from a few days prior. He took us back into the era of the big band, and dedicated the evening to long-time close, but sadly departed, friend, Patrick Williams. Together, Patrick and Jack conceived the arrangements - a vital ingredient, of the much lauded 'Seriously Frank' collection. He performed several pieces from that album. Standing out, again to myself, was the reflective 'When The World Was Young' and "It Was a Very Good Year'. With the latter, by changing the tense of the lyrics from the first to the third person, Jack in effect becomes the 'narrator' of the Sinatra story.
An audience of music aficionados; and one of ranging generations, truly loved and appreciated witnessing such artistry, and so demonstrated with their lengthy applause. Stepping away from the Sinatra theme, Jack closed the show with 'La Mancha', which, typically, brought all to their feet.
Two great evenings, two totally different shows, both fantastic, and all within the space of a week - who could ask for anything more?

Hi Jack,
You're one of the greatest and I thank my father for buying the "Wives and Lovers" album in the early 60's.I was hooked for good. My father Don McGuire was an original member of "The Hilltoppers" singing group in the 1950's. Their biggest hits were "Trying" (52'), "PS I Love You"(53')"I'd Rather Die Young" (53), "Till Then (54')and "Marianne" (57").Didn't know if you remembered The Hilltoppers but lead singer Jimmy Sacca and Dad always talked about how great of a voice you have.
Dad passed away 9/7/2018 and the founder of the group, Billy Vaughn (of The Billy Vaughn Orchestra) passed way in 1991.
Hope to see you in concert if you're anywhere close to Bowling Green, Ky.
You're the best Jack and keep it going my friend!
